Lake Tahoe hotels are located close to most activities of interest to visitors. Want to do some downhill skiing or snowboarding? Many hotels are located within a short walk or drive of the major winter resorts. Is a day on the lake fishing or waterskiing what you intend? Hotels, motels, cabins, and resorts large and small can be found all along the Lake Tahoe shoreline, especially on the California side of the lake. Hotels in or near South Lake Tahoe, CA, and Stateline, NV, are the most numerous. On the Nevada side, lodging tends to be heavily concentrated in Stateline on the southern shore, probably to accommodate California visitors wanting to gamble in one of the casinos just across the state line. Harrah's Hotel and Casino, Harvey's Hotel, and Caesars are all popular resting places in Stateline. Tip of the day: In South Lake Tahoe, 3 Peaks Resort and Beach Club is literally within walking distance of the lake, the mountains (via the Heavenly Gondola), and the casinos. North Lake Tahoe hotels are plentiful in and near Incline Village on the Nevada northern shore and Tahoe City on the western shore. Tahoe City is located on the lake yet within a short drive of a large number of ski resorts up State 89. Wherever you want to be in the area, there are sure to be some great Lake Tahoe hotels.

Cabins or cabin-styled hotel rooms with a rustic atmosphere keep guests warm in the winter and cool in the summer while they enjoy the lakeshore or mountains. A heated pool and two Jacuzzis will satisfy swimmers not in the mood for sand between their toes. |
