Having an alpine climate, weather in Lake Tahoe tends to be on the chilly side. Despite plenty of snowfall and winter storms between September and June, it is sunny nearly 300 days a year. Keep in mind at these elevations sunny does not necessarily mean warm. Because a winter storm can happen suddenly, even turn into a blizzard, travelers are urged to have their tire chains with them at all times. Current conditions are indicated here and a two week forecast of Lake Tahoe weather is provided as well.
